infinityPV integrates LEDs into its solar films
In a presentation video, infinityPV’s CEO Frederik C. Krebs says the 100µm-thick film could emit light in the same area it harvests energy, making it possible to have an energy-harvesting roof on one side that would later emit light on the inside as needed during night time.
The company will start exploring possible new applications for such integration next year with selected commercial partners.
The CEO also discussed novel printed solar cells in the form of turn-key panels, together with optimized power converter modules and power storage units so makers and solar hobbyists would be able to design with readymade solar panels for stand-alone applications.
The SOLO series of modules with solar panels about 1mm thick will be available in different form factors
