Intel draws makers’ attention with a Quiz
With the Intel Maker Quiz Series starting this week, the company hopes to figure out what type of maker you are and the sort of things you contemplate connecting to the internet.
Each week in December, Intel will place a new series of 7 questions online to test your knowledge of Intel’s latest product: the Intel Edison development board, but also on the Internet of Things in general.
Each correct answer will earn you points, and the 2 or 3 best scores at the end of each week will win an Intel Edison kit for Arduino.
About the size of a postage stamp, the Intel Edison Module (retailing for 50 to £70 depending on the kit) packs a 22nm Intel SoC including a dual core, dual threaded Intel Atom CPU running at 500MHz and a 32-bit Intel Quark microcontroller running at 100MHz. 
It supports 40 GPIOs and includes 1GB LPDDR3, 4 GB EMMC, and dual-band WiFi and BTLE.
Initially, the company supports development with Arduino, Node.JS, Python and C/C++, with support for RTOS, and Visual Programming in the near future.
The board comes with a device-to-device and device-to-cloud connectivity framework to enable cross-device communication and a cloud-based, multi-tenant, time-series analytics service.
