Intel Quark provides scalability across the Intel portfolio of products. The microcontroller family simplifies design and reduces bill of materials by minimising external components required on the platform. By developing on Intel Quark technology for edge devices, solutions providers can deploy compatible software throughout the solution to tie different pieces together.

The Intel Quark microcontroller D1000 is optimised for applications that require long battery life, such as wearable sensors and RFID tags. This 32 MHz, ultra-low power, 32-bit microcontroller contains 32 kBytes of flash and 8 kBytes of SRAM. Its comparators and analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) simplify connection to transducers and RF front ends, and the serial peripheral interfaces allow for connection with sensors, radios, memories, DSPs and application processors.

The Intel Quark microcontroller D2000 is an advanced version of the D1000, offering more I/O and providing ultra-low power, 32 MHz, 32-bit x86 functionality. The D2000 features two PWM channels and an extended operating temperature range (-40 to +85C). The Intel Quark SE microcontroller for IoT is a 32 MHz, 32-bit x86 microcontroller that offers high-efficiency power consumption. It contains 384 kBytes of flash and 80 kBytes of SRAM, and embodies all of the features of the D2000, plus an always-listening sensor hub and pattern-matching technology. Both the D2000 and SE microcontrollers come with a full Intel x86 instruction set architecture for compatibility and scalability.
