
Intel sells home-gateway business to MaxLinear
The Home Gateway Platform Division comprises Wi-Fi access points, Ethernet and Home Gateway SoC products deployed across operator and retail markets. The division employs an estimated 1,000 people, 200-300 of them in Israel, according to reports from Globes.
MaxLinear Inc. (Carlsbad, Calif.) said that the acquisition of the division will add between $60 million and $70 million to its quarterly revenue. MaxLinear Inc. has grown by way of a series of acquisitions in the last decade (see below).
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2020, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
