The IoT Innovator’s Challenge offers entrants the opportunity to submit new, unique use cases for the company’s LoRa long-range, low-power wireless technology focusing on the following core verticals markets: agriculture, cities, supply chain and logistics, metering, industrial IoT, health care, food and safety, and insurance. The top three contest winners will receive a monetary prize and the next-generation LoRa devices and wireless radio frequency technology (LoRa Technology) developer kit.

Entries must be submitted through the LoRa Community. Eligible participants must develop a two-minute video highlighting their new use case or design idea featuring Semtech’s SX126x platform.

“With a 50% reduction in power and a 45% reduction in size, the next-generation LoRa chipsets will help enable a new class of use cases for the Internet of Things worldwide,” says Vivek Mohan, Director of IoT for the Wireless and Sensing Products Group at Semtech. “LoRa Technology will remain the de facto standard for IoT as even more engineers and developers incorporate our chips into their applications and designs.”

The six contestants with the most innovative use cases will be awarded an early edition of the next-generation LoRa Technology, SX126x, developer kit. In addition, the top three contestants will receive a monetary prize of $1,000, $500, and $250 for first place through third place, respectively.

The contest will end on March 23 at 5 PM PST. Winners will be announced on April 10.
