The unit is suitable for use in a wide range of applications. It comes with various winding options for battery-powered and industrial applications. Other features include a radial load of 100N, preloaded ball bearings, a grounding connection and a temperature operating range of -40 to +100°C. The MILE encoder is used to make optimal use of the flat motor in high-precision applications and positioning tasks. The Maxon’s Inductive Little Encoder (MILE) is claimed to be the worldwide smallest inductive rotary encoder which operation is based on the detection of high-frequency inductivity. Using a high-frequency inductive measurement method ensures a high robustness against dust or oil vapor. Operation is fast and insensitive to interference pulses (for example from PWM controllers or motor magnets).
