IR receivers for remote control only 0.8mm high, feature an angle of sensitivity of 150°
Devices in the new TSOP57x series combine an ultra-low height of 0.8 mm, one of the lowest on the market, with a wide angle of sensitivity of 150°. The receivers’ high sensitivity enable a receiving distance of 40m. The TSOP57x IR receivers have no lens, yet they provide on-axis sensitivity equal to any surface-mount receiver on the market. At an off-axis angle of 45°, the receivers’ sensitivity is much better than devices with a lens, retaining 85 % of their on-axis sensitivity. Because remote control receivers are placed behind cosmetic windows that typically absorb some infrared light, this high sensitivity allows the TSOP57x series to outperform other surface-mount receivers on the market.
The receivers feature Vishay’s intelligent automatic gain control (AGC), providing the industry’s best noise suppression in versions that include AGC2, -3, -4, and -5. They have peak sensitivity of 940nm and are available in modulation frequencies of 36, 38, 40, and 56kHz.
