ITC to probe MediaTek, Toshiba patent infringement claims

In the MediaTek case Broadcom Corp. (Irvine, Calif.) has alleged that certain consumer audiovisual products being imported into the US contain chips that infringe its patents. Broadcom has asked for exclusion, cease and desist orders. LG Electronics and Funai are two prominent respondents cited in the Broadcom complaint.

In the Toshiba case Macronix International Co. Ltd. (Hsinchu, Taiwan) has complained that a range of consumer electronics products, solid-state drives and memory cards are being imported into the US that include non-volatile memory that infringe its patents. Macronix has also asked for exclusion, cease and desist orders.
