JM Energy invests $60m in high-volume LIC production
The plant is scheduled to come on stream by January 2015 with first customer shipments to begin in June 2015.
JM Energy’s LIC is an asymmetric capacitor delivering a high power density, high energy density, and a high operating voltage. The company’s ULTIMO series offers low resistance benefits and claims an extremely small internal energy loss during charge-and-discharge.
The high-volume production plant will be equipped with voltage sag compensators, automatic guided vehicles (AGV) and a green energy sourced outdoor lighting system, which all will use JM Energy’s ULTIMO technology.
JM Energy is also to begin marketing the company’s small ULTIMO flat prismatic-type cells which are less than half the volume of its existing flat prismatic-types. The new cells will target growing market demand in the construction, industrial machinery and automotive application sectors. The new cell design is ideal for applications that have limited space for the installation of additional power systems.
The new plant will be capable of manufacturing all existing prismatic types as well as the new small flat prismatic cell.
