Jürgen Meyer assumes top job at Rohde & Schwarz’ automotive segment
Meyer is responsible for the further development of the market segment with regard to product positioning and expansion of the customer base. Rohde & Schwarz is currently developing an expanded portfolio of automotive Ethernet and radar test solutions. In addition to radar-target simulators for development and final inspection of production processes, this also includes analysis systems for the quality of high-frequency radar signals and their influence by radomes and paint finishes. “My job is to position our entire automotive portfolio in the market on this basis,” Meyer explains. Rohde & Schwarz has made a name for itself in the automotive industry as a manufacturer of measurement solutions for EMC and connectivity for 4G, 5G, Bluetooth and 802.11p. For example, the eCall/ERA-GLONASS test system consisting of the R&S CMW500 and the GNSS-capable vector signal generator R&S SMBV100A is very successful. In addition to its broad product range, Rohde & Schwarz will also benefit from its international orientation in expanding its market position. “The automotive industry needs global partners, and Rohde & Schwarz is well positioned to do so,” emphasizes Meyer.
Jürgen Meyer, who studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and the Technical University of Munich, has more than 25 years of professional experience in the automotive industry. Most recently, he was head of the automotive division of the development service provider Berner & Mattner and was also the German representative on the international Automotive Executive Committee of Berner & Mattner’s parent company Assystem.
