The 5G test solutions covers design, development, deployment and optimization across Layers 1 to 7 to validate 300Gbit/s data throughput with up to 5m subscribers. This follows a similar deal with Japanese cellular operator NTT DoCoMo.

The end-to-end solutions use common software and hardware platforms compliant to the latest 3GPP standards to enable China Mobile and equipment suppliers to quickly and accurately validate new 5G mobile devices, base stations as well as the 5G core network (5GC). The company will also use the 5G New Radio (NR) network emulation to validate new devices across sub-6GHz and mmWave frequency bands, alongside an R&D Protocol Toolset and RF DVT Toolset that provide protocol, radio frequency (RF), and performance testing. Network emulation solutions also support narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT), which enable mobile operators and IoT device manufacturers to verify the performance of new IoT designs prior to market introduction.

“Keysight is looking forward to helping China Mobile accelerate their commercial deployment of 5G technology by providing early access to a wide range of 5G test solutions,” said Cao Peng, senior director of Keysight’s Commercial Communications group. “Keysight is partnering early with market makers to launch 5G end-to-end test and measurement solutions, enabling global mobile ecosystems to accelerate 5G product design development and validation from Layer 1 to 7 and across the entire workflow.”

The 5G Testbed enables base station makers and service providers to create and analyze 5G NR signals based on the latest 3GPP standard and includes Signal Studio Pro for 5G NR and X-Series Measurement Applications for flexible wideband signal creation and analysis. The IxLoad 5G Core Test Engine validates the user quality of experience by creating realistic scenarios that emulate web, video, voice, storage, VPN, wireless, infrastructure, and security protocols.
