The 25th anniversary version of Labview; LabVIEW 2011, adds engineering-specific libraries while ushering in new complementary hardware modules, including a new multicore NI CompactRIO controller and the NI PXIe-5665, said to be one of the highest performing RF vector signal analysers in the industry.
It also supports assemblies built with the latest Microsoft .NET framework and includes numerous features driven directly from user feedback.
Additional features in the latest release include: a Silver palette of controls and indicators; support for .NET assembly reuse and .m structures, as well as Xilix IP for the Labview FPGA module. It is also said to deliver up to five times faster loading, wiring, editing and compiling of FPGA code.
Support to programmatically build and distribute executables to targets is also included, as well as the ability to spawn asynchronous threads to create multithreaded applications more quickly, using a new communication API.
