Latest CISPR 35 standard for EMC tests supported via software option
The CISPR 35 standard defines how multimedia equipment has to be tested for electromagnetic compatibility by applying interference signals. This standard will merge the existing standards for IT components and equipment (CISPR 24) and for consumer electronics products (CISPR 20). The standard will significantly reduce the effort and complexity of the test setup for consumer electronics manufacturers.
For the test of radio and TV receivers, A/V receivers and media players, no independent test systems are required anymore. Instead, they only need to expand existing EMC test systems according to EN 61000-4-3 and EN 614000-4-6. To adapt their existing test setups, manufacturers of IT systems such as notebook computers, printers, routers or automatic teller machines typically only need to install the new software option.
The software option, EMC32-K35 will be available as soon as the CISPR 35 standard will be published. According to Rohde & Schwarz, this can be expected before the end of March.
