Lauterbach supports latest TI C29x microcontroller
Lauterbach in Germany has added development tool support for the latest C29x microcontroller from Texas Instrument.
The Lauterbach TRACE32 development tools now support the TI F29H85x real time microcontroller. The support includes debugging of the C29x and all of the other cores as well as read and write access to the chip’s internal flash memory.
The F29H85x series is built on TI’s new 64-bit C29x digital signal processor core detailed by eeNews Europe. It achieves more intelligent and secure processing in automotive and industrial applications and offers improved integrated safety and security features.
The diagnostics and error-checking mechanisms support compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 automotive and industrial safety standards, with levels up to ASIL-D and SIL 3 and require sophisticated support form the development tools.
The PowerView debugging software and PowerDebug accelerator modules provide fast download speeds and shortest response times available for efficient debugging and test automation.
These provide hardware-accelerated debugging of the C29x cores as well as the ARM Cortex-M4 core implemented in the HSM-IP-block and read/write access to the chip’s internal flash memory. This means embedded developers do not need any additional flash programming hardware.
The OS-awareness feature of TRACE32 also provides important insights into applications and the operating systems they run on. The tools can query and display all OS objects such as threads, message queues, and more. This enables engineers to better understand how they behave and how they use chip resources.
“The F29H85x microcontroller by Texas Instruments combines more intelligent and secure processing” said Norbert Weiss, Managing Director at Lauterbach GmbH. “With the latest support of TRACE32, engineers can use our market-leading debug and trace tools right from the start.”
