LED power supply features high efficiency, triple dimming function
In comparison to the product families PLN-60 and PLP-60 which have been introduced earlier, the efficiency of the new ones has been raised by another 1 to 4 percent points. The warranty has been extended from two to three years. Also with regard to operating temperatures the new power supplies offer superior performance: At normal supply voltages of 230 VAC they can be used already at temperatures as low as -40 °C while the PLN/PLP-60 only operate at temperatures of -30 C° or higher. In addition, the HLN-80H and the HLP-80H are equipped with a triple dimming function – DC 1-V to 10-V input; PWM or external resistor. Thus, they can meet the rising demand for energy-saving solutions in dimmable lighting.
The new power supplies can be operated across a particularly wide input voltage range – from 90 VAC to 305 VAC. Thus they are fit for use not only in the common AC supply grid with voltages of 115 V and 230 V but also in split-phase networks with 277 V widespread in North America.
With their integrated 2-stage active reactive power compensation, the HLN-80H and the HLP-80H meet the requirements to attenuate harmonics according to EN61000-3-2 under operating conditions exceeding 60 % load. At this condition, the power factor rises to beyond 0.9.
The power supplies resist transients of up to 4 kV and thus meet the requirements for deployment in general lighting applications. Due to their high efficiency of up to 91%, the HLM-80H suits for fanless operation at temperatures of up to 50 °C. With operating temperatures of up to +70 °C, the HLP-80H meets the requirements for closed systems.
The products feature protection against short circuit, overvoltage, overload and overtemperature. Certification according to lighting safety standards such as UL8750 and EN61347-2-13 has been applied for at institutions such as UL, CUL, TÜV and CE.
