LED professional Symposium – Call for Papers

The LED technology sector has been driven forward by numerous innovations and developments during the past year. The quality of light has been improved and power density markedly increased through augmented efficiency. This fast paced market promises progress and many innovations during the coming year. GaN-on-Silicon technology, various nano-technologies and new production methodologies are now ready to enter the market. However, Siegfried Luger (publisher of LED professional and Event Director of the LpS), warns that besides all these innovations the lighting industry also needs regulations and standards. He went on to say that these requirements greatly increase the significance of the Zhaga Standard for LED Light Engines.

In order to expedite development it is necessary to have a mutual exchange of scientific knowledge, discussions about promising solutions and a network that brings key players from the areas of science and industry together. This is the central idea behind the annual LED professional Symposium +Expo (LpS) in Bregenz (Austria), which has established itself as the leading LED lighting technology event in Europe (and of which eeNews Europe is a media partner). Apart from the numerous presentations in the fields of component, measuring and production technologies, the important topic of decreasing costs of research & development will be discussed by Menno Treffers, Secretary-General of Zhaga.

February 15th, 2013 is the deadline for lighting experts from academia and industry to hand in their abstracts for consideration if they want to present them at the symposium in September. Topic areas, content details as well as information about the selection process through the Advisory Board are explained at length on the event homepage www.LpS2013.com/call. Abstracts should be sent via email to: symposium@led-professional.com
