LEDOTRON digital dimming alliance agrees to dissolve
The marketing of the open industry digital dimming standard LEDOTRON dates back to the EU ban on incandescent lamps and the related uncertainty regarding the compatibility of ‘conventional’ dimmers with LED and energy-saving lamps.
LEDOTRON’s innovative dimming and controlling technology aimed to put an end to compatibility issues and introduce a new era in lighting comfort.
LEDOTRON developed normalised and standardised dimming and control technology. Since the alliance was established a variety of other safe and innovative solutions from the alliance partners has been put on the market, which enable the dimming of modern lighting sources.
The advent of these solutions has eliminated the need for a continuation of the marketing of LEDOTRON by the alliance that was created specifically for that purpose and has a consequence the alliance has been dissolved with immediate effect. The future supply of LEDOTRON replacement products will take place via the partners under the relevant statutory or contractual provisions.
In 2013 LEDOTRON won the ETOP Innovation Award from the Elektrotechniek trade fair in the Netherlands.
LEDOTRON digital regulating and dimming technology has been available exclusively from specialist dealers since July 2012.
