LEDs and LED driver packages for advanced indicator applications
Different package types and sizes provide designers with a wide range of devices in order to facilitate the optimum solution for their LED design. They come in PLCC2, Chip LED 0603, reflector 0603&0805, or lens type packages, with a profile height ranging from 0.55 to 1.9mm. Forward current IFmax range from 20 to 60mA, for a luminous intensity up to 4800 mcd. The LEDs operate in the -40 to +100° temperature range with a forward voltage of 2.0 to 3.5 at 20mA.
Rohm completes its offering with the BD8377 LED driver series, enabling a complete design solution for indicator lights in automotive cluster applications. This 12-channel 50mA/ch LED driver comes in a small SSOP-B20 package and supports cascade connections in order to increase the number of channels and the number of LEDs which can be driven and controlled. The devices features a 35V DMOS open drain output MOSFET for multiple driving and efficient power saving as well as low EMC noise with an output slew rate of 20V/usec.
