Legal truce breaks out between Samsung and LG
The BBC reported this week that both companies have agreed to withdraw complaints filed against the other company, and “seek leniency in continuing cases”.
Both companies have been involved in a series of legal proceedings between each other relating to consumer electronics technologies.
The agreement appears to extend to Samsung Electronics subsidiary Samsung Display and to LG Display Co Ltd. Samsung Display employees were indicted in February 2015 on charges of stealing organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panel technology from LG Display.
Samsung Display has said the technology was widely known in the industry and that the indictment was excessive.
