Leoni, relayr bring predictive maintenance into robotic production
As part of the partnership, Leoni and relayr will jointly develop an intelligent solution for predictive maintenance and monitoring of robot lines in automotive production on the basis of LEONiQ technology and relayr’s IoT portfolio. This gives plant operators a continuous and deep insight into critical areas and components of their entire production line. The measure is in line with Leoni’s corporate strategy, which is increasingly positioning itself as a solution provider for energy and data management in the automotive industry and other industries.
Leoni brings intelligent, IoT-enabled energy and data management in robot lines, associated data analysis expertise and automation and process knowledge from the automotive industry into the cooperation. Relayr contributes its considerable cross-sector expertise in IoT technology, data analysis and process optimization in industrial manufacturing.
Together, the two companies will implement the first test installations in automotive manufacturing this year in order to offer their solutions to a broad customer base from 2020. HSB (Hartford Steam Boiler), as well as relayr, part of the Munich Re Group, will further complement the partnership: the technological IoT portfolio of the merger will be expanded to include financial services and risk management, which will make the business model a direct added value for clients in financial and safety terms.
