Leoni to supply cable harnesses to Hyundai
Starting December 2016, Leoni will equip an unspecified medium-sized Hyundai vehicle with cable harnesses. According to Leoni, the deciding factor was its logistic concept. The harnesses will me manufactured in a production facility in a relatively low distance to Hyundai’s plant in the Czech Republic.
Hyundai plans to expand its European business. The company already runs a design centre in Germany and a production plant in the Czech Republic. Commissioning Leoni as the largest European system provider for cabling systems and harnesses is regarded as a first step towards this end, Leoni said in a press release. The company will deliver between 130.000 and 160.000 cable sets per year.
