LG Innotek adopts CSR chip in module for in-vehicle connectivity and audio
The auto-grade chip, which combines high-speed Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® v4.1 with complementary audio capabilities, will be used by LG Innotek for its latest automotive connectivity module, the RBHA-C215A.
The combination of these technologies will unlock exciting use cases such as keyless entry, harness reduction via Bluetooth Smart, Mirrorlink and Miracast capabilities for sharing video screens, high fidelity hands free calls with wideband speech and CD like audio performance when listening to music over Bluetooth with aptX®. The Wi-Fi capabilities of the CSRC9300 mean the module can deliver high bandwidth connections for multi-user Wi-Fi hotspots as well as multiple video streams.
Thomas Carmody, Head of Automotive Connectivity Marketing at CSR, said: “Given the excellent performance of the LG Innotek module design and the capabilities of the CSRC9300, we are expecting a lot of interest from the automotive Tier One and OEM customer base. LG Innotek is already working with a number of leading Tier One suppliers to integrate the RBHA-C215A into their designs for production starting this year and we expect many more designs to follow in 2015 and beyond.”

CSRC9300 is a cost optimized connectivity component with a low external BOM which means module designers like LG Innotek can save space in their designs as well as benefit from a low complexity design due to the high levels of integration.
