LG Innotek’s brand ‘InnoUV’ to make UV LEDs “more visible”
UV (ultraviolet ray) LEDs eliminate germs and viruses depending on their wavelength and are used for the disinfection of water, air and surfaces, but also in medicine, biotechnology, and for curing and light exposure equipment because of the UV light’s ability to chemically react with particular substances.
Last year, LG Innotek succeeded in developing a 100mW UV-C LED boasting the world’s highest light output, which can wipe out 99.9% of Salmonella, a cause of food poisoning, in 3.4 seconds. The company aims to make the world a safe and clean place by increasing UV LED’s sterilizing power through endless innovation.
The “InnoUV” brand logo will apply to all 40 types of the UV LED packages and modules the company has developed. OEMs integrating UV LEDs from LG Innotek in their products will also be able to use this logo on the exterior, packaging, and promotion materials of their finished UV LED products once they go through a prior negotiation process with LG Innotek.
With the “InnoUV” brand, the company wants to target the global market and raise consumer awareness, making UV light “more visible”.
