The company will introduce its ProBeam UST (Ultra Short-Throw) laser projector (model HF85JA), hoping to expand its influence in the LED/Laser projector market which is predicted to rise to USD 5.7 billion in three years.

The LG ProBeam UST offers an ultra-short throw design with a Full HD (1080p) image for an immersive home cinema experience without the issues related to most home projectors. Ultra Short-Throw projectors are convenient because they do not need professional installation and do not use a mess of unsightly cables or require expansive space between the projector and the screen.

The ProBeam UST only needs 12cm to show a 100-inch image and does not need a stand, so it can be placed on any existing furniture. And because it has an ultra-short throw, audience members cannot cast a shadow on the screen when getting up. The laser projector is specified to deliver up to 1500 lumens, 1.5 times brighter than the company’s previous UST projector, with a 150,000:1 contrast ratio.

The ProBeam UST’s light source is projected to last up to 20,000 hours. The unit can be connected to wireless speakers or headphones. Its four corner keystone feature can correct both vertical and horizontal picture distortion, giving users maximum flexibility in positioning the ProBeam UST. The device also comes with LG’s webOS Smart TV platform, granting access to an ever-growing number of streaming services.
