Lidar startup Innoviz opens office in Munich
In the course of its continuing expansion, lidar technology company Innoviz (Tel Aviv, Israel) has opened a new office in Munich (Germany). The location offers proximity to key customers such as BMW and Audi as well as to collaboration partners.
The new office inhabits sales and engineering staff; in addition it is equipped with a lab facility and a garage for test vehicles. The company says it plans to hire locally as its project portfolio is likely to continue to ramp up. From Innoviz’ perspective, Munich offers a highly-skilled workforce and multiple collaboration opportunities in Germany and greater Europe plus a thriving innovation ecosystem with many technical universities and research institutions.
“We are expanding Innoviz’s operations globally, and a Munich office is an important move for us as we execute on our design wins with key customers such as Volkswagen and BMW. Germany is one of the leading automotive markets and it is a top priority for us to maintain good relationships with our customers and continue to grow our business in the region” said Innoviz CEO and Co-Founder Omer Keilaf.
The lidar company has made headlines with its combination of lidar sensors and perception software for autonomous vehicles. Among its partners in the automotive value chain are Aptiv, Blackberry, Magna and Webasto.
