Low-cost development kit for Cypress PSoC 4 architecture is now on pre-order from Premier Farnell
The new kit costs $25, and lets designers discover the capabilities of the new PSoC 4 programmable system-on-chip architecture, which combines Cypress’s best-in-class PSoC analog and digital fabric with ARM’s power-efficient Cortex-M0 core.
The PSoC 4 Pioneer Kit is highly expandable. It includes connectors for Arduino-compatible shields and Digilent PMOD daughter cards, enabling customers to pick from a variety of third-party expansion boards. In addition, an onboard PSoC 5LP device serves as the programmer and debugger, eliminating the need for external programmers.

The new PSoC 4 device class will challenge proprietary 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), along with other 32-bit devices. The PSoC 4 architecture offers best-in-class power leakage of 150 nA while retaining SRAM memory, programmable logic and the ability to wake up from an interrupt.
