The SABRE Lite board is a low-cost, high-performance development platform featuring Freescale’s i.MX 6Quad Application Processor. With LinuxLink for i.MX 6 Series, developers designing embedded Linux products around the SABRE Lite board will have access to an integrated board support package (BSP) that enables them to evaluate the i.MX 6 Series processor before committing to a custom design. The complete design solution will be available for purchase globally from element14 later this year.
LinuxLink for i.MX 6 Series provides an easy-to-use and cost-effective embedded Linux solution for creating, customizing, deploying and debugging embedded Linux software projects, including rich multimedia interface applications. Customers can start building custom Linux board support packages and matching software development kits (BSPs/SDKs) for their development kit in minutes using the LinuxLink FREE Edition for SABRE Lite which includes the kernel, toolchain and debugger as well as a wizard-based interface which enables developers to easily choose their kernel, software packages and tools and build a custom BSP/SDK ready to run on their development kit. It also includes free SDKs to help jumpstart application development and 30-day access to TimeStorm IDE for application development as well as demo code and access to hundreds of open source software packages.
For advanced customization and integration needs, customers have the option to upgrade to Timesys’s commercially supported LinuxLink PRO Edition which enables advanced platform and application development.
Through Timesys’s commercial offering, customers can leverage all i.MX 6x Series hardware accelerated features, including media framework, in their custom embedded Linux design and can modify all aspects of it. Customers can also leverage integrated development tools and SDKs and easily develop state-of-the-art UIs using the Qt framework, available in Timesys tools.
