Low-jitter VCSO solutions focus on high-performance optical networking and telecom applications
The IDT M690SDM low-jitter, low-noise oscillator incorporates an analog frequency multiplier and single-ended RF output with jitter at less than 270 femtoseconds root mean square (rms) integrated across the 20 kHz to 20 MHz frequency band. It is available with an output frequency in the 1.5 GHz to 2.1 GHz range, providing customers a high frequency reference clock with low-jitter, low-noise performance.
The IDT M690SDM’s performance specifications meet the low bit error ratio (BER) requirements for today’s high speed 40 G and 100 G board designs used in telecommunications and optical networking applications, helping to drive the development of next generation cloud computing and 4G wireless infrastructure.
In addition to addressing the performance requirements of its target applications, the IDT M690SDM provides +10 dBm output power. For many designs, this eliminates the need to use an additional amplifier, simplifying the overall bill of materials. The device is offered in a compact surface mount technology (SMT) package to minimize its footprint and save board area in densely populated enclosures.
The IDT M690SDM is currently sampling to qualified customers. It is available in a 13×20 mm FR4 printed circuit board (PCB) with grounded metal cover to minimize system Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). The IDT M690SDM is priced at $85.00 each for volumes 10,000 units.
