Part of the company’s AMT series, the new encoders offers either an RS-485 (AMT21) or Synchronous Serial Interface (AMT23) and are based on CUI’s capacitive sensing technology. This capacitive technology developed to be rugged to withstand the dirt, dust, and oil that is found in many motion control applications. The encoders are housed in compact packages that can be as small as 39 x 28 x 10 mm. The two encoders have a current draw of 8 mA at 5 V and accuracy of ±0.2 mechanical degrees.

Both models come in either radial or axial orientations and carry an operating temperature range from -40 to +105°C. The AMT21 and AMT23 are highly customisable with the ability to program the direction of rotation and zero position via CUI’s AMT Viewpoint software.
