The luminaires support bidirectional data transfers at up to 42Mbps. A USB LiFi module that plugs into the user’s PC receives the data and communicates back to the luminaire. The LiFi luminaires require to be connected to an Internet server via a RJ45 cable and compliment Wifi in places where it is not available or badly deployed. The LiFi luminaire and USB key co-developed by Lucibel and pureLifi will be exclusively manufactured by Lucibel in France. LiFi networks cannot be hacked without a line of sight, making them very secure. The absence of electromagnetic waves makes them suitable in hospitals, nursery, schools, and they can accommodate a high density of users in co-working spaces, airports, hotels, or meeting rooms.
