Luxonic expands LED luminaire production to meet demand
The expansion will support increased demand for the company’s LED luminaires.
The 28-year-old group has consolidated all the company’s manufacturing into the Basingstoke site and required an extensive re-organisation of the factory.
Luxonic production director Alan Ayres said: "The changes which we have put in place will give us a massive efficiency gain and more capacity to manufacture both LED and fluorescent luminaires."
Managing director Nick Tavaré added: "2013 was a fantastic year for us in terms of sales and we have seen huge increases in demand for our LED products. This major investment puts us in an excellent position to satisfy this need for energy efficient LED lighting and grow the business in the future."
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) refinanced Luxonic’s existing loan and provided the company with an additional £250,000 funding under the government-backed Funding for Lending scheme.
Luxonic, which has had annual sales £11m this year, employs around 100 staff with half of them being involved in production.
