This technique achieves magnetic stability over the full operating temperature range, and eliminates offsets inherent in devices with a single Hall element that are exposed to harsh application environments. This suits the devices for systems where the sensor ICs will be behind a voltage regulator or that do not require double battery or reverse battery protection.

The APS122x5 family was optimised for the speed and position sensing of ring-magnets (motors/encoders) or other moving/rotating assemblies and is targeted at 2.8 to 5.5V automotive and industrial markets. Key end-applications include motor commutation and speed and direction sensing in automotive window lifts, sunroofs and tail-/lift-gates; white goods; automated window blinds; garage door openers, and sliding doors. They are package, pinout, and magnetic characteristic-compatible with earlier devices and are qualified to AEC-Q100, for operation at temperatures up to 175C°.

LH packaging is a SOT-23 W style, miniature, low-profile package for surface-mount applications. UA is a 3-pin, ultra-mini, single inline package (SIP) for through-hole mounting. These switches are available with a choice of magnetic switch-points and package, adding the option of 3.3/5V specific devices.
