At the MWC25, Xiaomi is showcasing their new modular phone/camera system
From the press release:
This concept camera system features a detachable 35mm f/1.4 equivalent prime lens integrated with a built-in M4/3 image sensor, which magnetically connects to a smartphone. Leveraging the new Xiaomi LaserLink Communication technology—an advanced optical communication solution—the system enables seamless data transfer between the camera and the phone. By combining traditional camera hardware’s superior imaging capabilities with smartphones’ computational power, Xiaomi has pioneered a groundbreaking approach to imaging technology.
