Meech International has launched the 906 Hyperion 24V Power Supply Unit, a compact and intelligent high-voltage AC power solution designed for static management applications in industrial settings—with a clear focus on battery manufacturing environments. The PSU replaces the company’s 904 and 905 AC power supplies, offering advanced energy management features, remote control, and enhanced reliability in high-demand scenarios.
For eeNews Europe readers, particularly those working in gigafactory development or energy storage production lines, the new 24-VDC-powered PSU could be useful for addressing long-standing challenges around static control, contamination risk, and equipment durability in harsh environments.
Static control for precision and safety
Static electricity poses major risks in battery cell production, where even microscopic contaminants can lead to yield loss or catastrophic failures. Lithium-ion battery manufacturing in ultra-dry environments is particularly vulnerable to electrostatic discharge (ESD), which can attract metallic particles to electrodes or separators, increasing the risk of internal short circuits and thermal events.
Meech’s 906 Hyperion PSU enables precise power delivery to AC ionization and cleaning systems used to neutralize charges and eliminate contaminants across key battery production processes such as slitting, winding, and coating. By moving from traditional AC inputs to a 24VDC supply, the new PSU offers greater power stability, better integration with modern control systems, and reduced exposure to voltage fluctuations.

906 Hyperion in demanding production environments
The 906 PSU is universally compatible, accepting 24-VDC input from standard power adapters worldwide. It supports adjustable output from 2 to 7kVAC and can power up to four Meech AC ionization devices simultaneously, making it adaptable across multiple industrial use cases.
Smart features include remote monitoring, health diagnostics, and standby mode, all aimed at reducing downtime and energy consumption. For customers upgrading from other Meech units, the new model offers backward-compatible mounting and a compact footprint to ease installation within legacy equipment layouts.
The unit has also been tested to operate in harsh conditions, including factory temperatures exceeding 40°C and humidity levels up to 85°C. Built-in temperature sensors and fault monitoring can trigger automated shutdowns and remote alerts, supporting predictive maintenance.
“With the new 906 Hyperion 24V PSU, manufacturers can expect a unit that delivers power more precisely to keep processes running reliably and more efficiently, reducing the day-to-day complexity of managing static control in demanding environments like battery manufacturing,” said Ian Atkinson, Sales Director at Meech. “We have tested the unit extensively in tough conditions and carefully refined it to fit seamlessly into how our customers actually work, no matter where they are in the world.”
The 906 Hyperion PSU is now available for global deployment.
