Memory chip stores data permanently
I2C EERAM is a non-volatile static RAM (SRAM) that thanks to the on-chip combination of complementary memory technologies EEPROM and SRAM enables robust and reliable memory solutions. EERAM is an SRAM on its own with a shadow EEPROM-based backup storage, all integrated on a single chip. The EEPROM automatically stores the content of the SRAM in cases of power failure. No external battery or power supply is necessary – just the integrated capacitor. The EERAM allows immediate random writes to the memory array without any write cycle delays.
The I2C ERAM memory chips are available in 4Kbit and 16 Kbit densities and come in 8-pin packages of the SOIC, TSSOP and PDIP type. Supply voltages are 3V and 5V. The devices are available for the industrial or automotive temperature range (-40°C to +85°C, or -40°C to +125°C, respectively); automotive certification has already been concluded. This feature set makes the memory chips ideal for applications where data need to be acquired, updated or monitored on-the-fly and stored permanently. Application examples are consumption meters, automotive electronics and industry.
