Memory maker Hynix adds SSD range under its own brand
The South Korean semiconductor manufacturer is best known for supply of memory chips in the channel; until now, all its manufacturing capability targeted on the SSD market has been focussed on supporting the largest system integrators in the world. Now, the company has announced its SH910A Solid State Drive with the staed aim of being a serious contender in the SSD market.
Available in two capacities, 128GB and 256GB, the Solid State Drives will be priced from its UK distributor at £49.98 and £87.99, respectively.
The SSDs aim to provide a cost effective and durable storage solution by using a System On Chip (SOC) design to manage the 6GB per second from multiple flash memory devices on multiple channels, and offer a standard ATA interface, which is fully compatible with traditional hard drives, making them suitable for the majority of PC users.
In the UK, distribution is from Ebuyer; www.ebuyer.com
