The family is called microPower and the SiT8021 is the first product in the family and operates from 100-microamps of current.
SiTime, which is a subsidiary of Japanese fabless chip company MegaChips, claims that the product offers 90 percent lower power, 40 percent smaller size and 70 percent less weight than products based on quartz piezoelectric oscillator.
The SiT8021 offers the following specifications:
- 100 μA of supply current;
- 1.5 mm x 0.8 mm package;
- Mass of 1.28 mg;
- Height of 0.55 mm;
- 1 to 26 MHz output frequency with 6 decimal places of accuracy;
- Operating temperature from -40°C to +85°C;
- ±100 PPM frequency stability;
- 1.8V operation for battery powered applications;
- Programmable output drive strength for best EMI or driving multiple loads;
- Reliability of 1140 million hours MTBF (< 1 FIT);
- Superior shock & vibration resistance.
