Mentor HPC Application Development Environment now available for AMD platforms

By eeNews Europe

The Sourcery CodeBench Lite Edition is a free, C/C++ and Fortran development environment for scientific and high performance computing (HPC) applications. It allows AMD Radeon Instinct GPUs to be targeted for execution using OpenMP and OpenACC API specifications. This recent release includes a GNU-based C/C++ and Fortran development tool chain for Linux platforms.

In 2014, AMD and Mentor Graphics established an embedded software ecosystem for developers to offer open source tools for building, debugging, analysing and optimising embedded software. The release of Sourcery CodeBench (AMD GCN) Lite Edition allows AMD to expand into the HPC market with its Radeon Instinct line of GPU accelerators.
