Merger creates powerhouse in micro imaging software
The companies announced that by sharing their software technologies and expertise they will be able to provide best-in-class image processing and surface metrology software to their partners and users.
Image Metrology plans to release version 6.3 of its SPIP software in September including new functions for particles and pores analysis. Digital Surf will release ‘Mountains’ v. 7.2 in November. This software will include new functions focusing on scanning electron microscopy. Both companies will present their software products in December at the MRS Fall Exhibit in Boston, MA.
In the future, both companies will exchange their technologies in order to enhance both product families. In the longer run, they plan to develop a common software platform for microscopes, profilometres and spectrometres that will be upwards compatible with both Mountains and SPIP. Towards this end, both companies will further invest into their headcount.
