All insert arrangement types with a size 8 cavity can thus be fitted with a fiber optic connection using the Elio optical contact. This allows the combination of optical and electrical connections into a single connector which was initially developed for electrical requirements only. This solution is suitable for harsh operating environments with temperatures from -65°C to +125°C and intense vibration.
