Microsemi reveals results of Spectre and Meltdown investigation
The two security vulnerabilities that were recently identified have affected billions of x86, ARM and other processors around the globe. The announcement of the security flaws prompted Microsemi to immediately start an in-depth investigation of the company’s own products with its internal security experts. That audit has now completed and the company is confident that none of the processor cores embedded within Microsemi products are impacted by the vulnerabilities.
The investigation looked at Microsemi’s SmartFusion and SmartFusion2 FPGAs, as well as its communications and storage products. It also involved the company’s soft RISC-V core or the provider of RISC-V IP.
