Microsemi RTG4 FPGAs get qualified to QML Class V

By eeNews Europe

QML Class V is the highest level of qualification for space components and is necessary to satisfy mission assurance requirements on many space programs. The qualification allows RTG4 FPGAs to be incorporated in the most critical space missions.

Microsemi RTG4 FPGAs are the only FPGA devices with over 150,000 logic elements that currently are qualified to this standard. RTG4 FPGAs can now provide more signal processing bandwidth for highly critical space applications. Granted by the DLA, NASA and the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Command, the QML Class V qualification is increasingly important for a growing number of satellites that are being built to perform a wide variety of missions. The QML Class V qualification adds to the existing designations the RTG4 FPGAs have achieved, including QML Class Q and MIL-STD-883 Class B qualifications.
