The devices feature an adjustable attenuation range of up to 30 dB, a low insertion loss – typically 1 dB maximum – and VSWRs ranging from 1.5:1 to 1.7:1. Maximum power input is specified as 5W average and typically 3 kW peak.
Certain models are equipped with SMA female connectors, while others use 3.5-mm or N-type connectors. On all versions, the attenuation level is adjusted via a screwdriver slot on a central shaft, with the position fixed by means of a locking nut. Capable of operating in ambient temperatures as high as 105C without degradation, the attenuators are packaged in rugged housings ranging in size from 63.5 x 50.8 x 14.2 mm to 65.2 x 73.7 x 18.0 mm and weighing from 160 to 300g.
