The accelerometer incorporates Meggitt’s own Piezite type P-8 crystal element, operating in annular shear mode, which exhibits excellent output sensitivity stability over time. The accelerometer also incorporates an internal hybrid signal conditioner within a two-wire system which transmits its low-impedance voltage output through the same cable that supplies the constant current power. Signal ground is isolated from the mounting surface by a ceramic mounting base. A field-replaceable miniature coaxial cable is supplied with the 2250A-10, as well as a special tool to ensure proper removal of the accelerometer (model 31275) from its adhesive mounting surface. Recommended optional accessories for the Endevco model 2250A, sold separately, include the model 133 three-channel piezoelectric signal conditioner; the model 4416B low-noise, compact signal conditioner; the model 2775B PE, Isotron and RCC signal conditioner; or the Oasis 2000 (4990A-X with cards 428 and/or 433) computer controlled system.
