Mobile solar energy system targets extreme climate conditions
The mobile solar energy system is designed for extreme climate conditions such as high temperatures region. The Off Grid division of the German solar wholesaler first introduced the new system at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi at the end of January 2011.
Intelligent energy management technology makes it possible to use the MSPS as a stand-alone system in rural areas, for telecommunication systems or to support existing grids. After a one-day installation, the power plant, which is housed in a special container, is operational. A peak of 36 kW of solar module power can be attached to the model introduced in Abu Dhabi. The energy content of the battery is 144 kilowatt hours.
To ensure the greatest possible service life of the battery, even in extremely high temperatures, a high-performance cooling system was developed which features active and passive air conditioning. The professional filter system includes automatic cleaning.
Customers can choose between two models of mobile solar energy system. The containers are 10 or 20 feet long, with AC power from 16 to 118 kilowatts. All components can be adjusted according to requirements. The container can be adapted to any customer application and can, for example, be equipped with a diesel generator or a wind turbine. The MSPS has a high overload resistance and thermal phase shift for optimized temperatures. It also includes automatic start of the backup generator, a central monitoring unit and remote monitoring and data logging. The corresponding mounting system is modular and can be adjusted to various tilt angles.
