The FLIR EST thermal screening cameras have been designed to offer screening at building doorways, as well as other high traffic areas. The devices are intended to improve safety and help stop the spread of COVID-19. The FLIR Axxx-EST, FLIR T5xx-EST, and FLIR Exx-EST series cameras make screening simple, quick and safe.
“The new FLIR EST thermal solutions represent nearly two decades of experience designing and manufacturing thermal measurement solutions for skin temperature screening,”» said Jim Cannon, President and CEO at FLIR. “These cameras are our easiest cameras to set up and operate to date for skin temperature screening, requiring limited training to begin screening people more quickly and accurately.”

FLIR Screen-EST Mode
The new devices feature an enhanced, on-camera FLIR Screen-EST mode. The new mode provides an increased throughput of up to 25 percent over the previous version. The updated Screen-EST mode can generate a baseline temperature average and the compares skin temperature to the baseline. This technique reduces measurement uncertainty from natural body temperature fluctuations and environmental effects. When using Screen-EST mode, the device is able to sound or display an alarm if the camera detects a temperature above a set threshold. When the screening mode sounds the alarm, secondary testing with a medical deviceshould then be used. The EST cameras are also compatible with FLIR’s Screen-EST desktop software announced in June.

FLIR Axxx-EST series
The A500-EST and A700-EST cameras have been developed for permanent, fixed installations. They can be installed as a single, standalone screening station as part of a network. The cameras can be connected to the majority of video management systems. The camera housing has multiple mounting points for different types of installation.

FLIR T5xx-EST series
Flir’s T540-EST and T560-EST can operate in both mobile or fixed settings. This flexible form factor allows cable-free mobile operation. The devices have up to four hours of battery life.

FLIR Exx-EST series
These cameras are light and have been ergonomically designed for handheld use. The battery-powered, E54-EST and E86-EST devices have a bright and easy-to-use integrated touchscreen display.
The FLIR Axxx-EST series, T5xx-EST series, and Exx-EST series will be available in Q3 2020.
