All components, from headlamp modules and control units to sensors, can be configured according to the modular principle with the aid of the new system. Hella also provides support in the specification of interfaces between the individual components and in the development of the optimum light for the driver. When purchasing a product from the modular system, customers will therefore in future have access to the software tools ALiSiA (Advanced Lighting Simulation Architecture) and GAIN (Graphical Animation Interpreter) depending on the application. The offer takes into account automotive market trends such as increasing vehicle individualisation and autonomous driving. Manufacturers benefit by being able to reduce their integration costs.

With ALiSiA, they can test the temporal behaviour of new front light functions on the PC and make individual adjustments. In the software, the direct influence of the individual components on the overall light output can be traced – even before the entire system has been implemented in the vehicle. Products from other manufacturers can be easily integrated via modification packages.

The GAIN (Graphical Animation Interpreter) software enables automobile manufacturers to easily design light animations – from functions such as the wiping turn signal to individual choreographies for headlights, barbecue lighting, rear lights and the interior to more complex animations for autonomous driving functions. The animations created in this way can be transferred to the animated product at the touch of a button. This saves time and money in development.
