Modular USB charging station adds data management
Saelig has launched a modular, mobile USB charging station capable of charging and storing mobile devices with a built-in data management system.
The Cambrionix ‘ModIT’ charging station can store, charge, and sync up to 16 or more mobile phones in a modular, expandable system. In addition to mobile device charging, it provides a powerful system to handle data needs, making it much easier and smarter to handle large numbers of shared mobile devices, independant of make or model.
The ModIT system can be expanded to suit different requirements by connecting multiple units together to charge, store, and manage up to 96 mobile devices. The Max Module provides 16 x USB 3.2 ports for mobile phones, with 2.4A (12W) charging for each of the USB ports – suitable for almost any mobile phone. This offers a data transfer rate of up to 40Gbps, compared with 480Mbps for standard USB 2 hubs.
Two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide access for the host computer and daisy chaining, with the fastest transfer speeds, and built-in fans assist with device cooling.
The Charge Module offers similar capabilities to the Max Module for 16 phones in this self-contained compact charging station module (2.4A/12W charging) but with USB 2 ports. Two additional USB 2.0 ports are provided for host computer connection and for daisy chaining/scaling.
The BOSS Management Module has space for a control computer to be added inside (e.g. Mac Mini, Raspberry Pi, or Intel NUC). This gives the ability to partner with customer software and operating systems already use, saving time when it comes to setting up new operating systems. This module enables powerful extra features, such as an RFID reader for individual slot locking/unlocking, and a 5″ LCD touchscreen for easy control and management of up to 6 docking/charging stations and 96 devices, depending on software limitations. It can permit networking via WiFi or Ethernet, management of the system by a local or off-site IT team or Cloud Service, transferring syncing data, etc.
