Molex to buy US/UK aerospace connector maker
Molex is to acquire AirBorn in Texas for its rugged aerospace connector technology and skills and UK manufacturing. The details of the deal were not disclosed.
AirBorn specialises in the design and manufacturing of rugged connectors and electronic components such as VPX power systems for global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) serving the aerospace and defense, commercial air, space exploration, medical and industrial markets.
The company has nine global manufacturing facilities including one in the UK at Edenbridge, Kent, as well as seven in the US and one in Canada.

The acquisition is expected to close by early December 2024, subject to regulatory approvals.
