Moroccan camera packager to exit market, auction equipment
Nemotek was established in 2008 with funding from Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), one of the largest investment firms in Morocco. In 2009 the company opened a 12,000 square meter facility including clean room. The company has offered wafer-level packaging (WLP), wafer-level optics (WLO) and wafer-level cameras (WLC).
Production capacity at the facility is around 3,000 wafers per month for WLP and around one million cameras per month for WLC, according to Nemotek’s website.
Ahmed Amghayrir, a director of the company, told eeNews Europe that the equipment was up for sale because Nemotek has ceased its wafer-level camera business. "The company will continue but not in semiconductors," he said. He declined to say why Nemotek was leaving the business or what it would do next.
A website at www.nemotek.ma/appel-offre provides access to further information about the equipment on offer. Amghayrir said there are more than 200 pieces of equipment and all in excellent condition. Interested parties have until December 3, 2015 to register their interest in buying equipment.
